Girl Genius Magazine: How To Get Internships In High School
Girl Genius is proud to announce that we are partnering with Synhacks, a virtual Hackathon, to bring you a workshop on securing internships as a high school student
This workshop will be led by our founder and executive director Shivali Gulati who has gotten internships at Verizon, University of Arizona, SRI, and safe squad.
Shivali Gulati is a high school senior from the Bay Area passionate about equitable computer science education and bridging the gender gap in STEM. By founding @girlgeniusmag, her team has reached 460,000 girls worldwide through their magazine issues, virtual events, and social media campaigns. Shivali’s dedication to promoting inclusivity in STEM is shown through her 2x Kode With Klossy Scholarships, San Francisco NCWIT awards, placement at international business competitions, as well as her efforts working with companies like Github, HyperX, Vercel, Ubisoft, and Popsockets to bring educational opportunities to girls in STEM worldwide. When Shivali is not working on Girl Genius, she can be found interning at companies like Verizon, 3D printing keychains for local organizations, or organizing hackathons throughout the Bay Area.
